Ray finally addressed the situation during the debut episode of her new podcast, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead, revealing she’d been dealing with multiple injuries from recent falls. “I’ve had a couple of bad spills,” she admitted, explaining that her nonstop work ethic and love for physical tasks around her home had caught up with her. She described herself as restless, always cooking, organizing, and doing chores — even hauling firewood and chopping kindling — until her body forced her to slow down. Though she didn’t directly discuss the slurred speech video, Ray made it clear that the falls and resulting fatigue were wake-up calls she could no longer ignore.

Still, her determination hasn’t dimmed. Ray shared that she’s been focusing on recovery, physical therapy, and rediscovering balance in her life. Her husband, musician John Cusimano, has supported her through it all, reminding her that rest can be just as productive as hard work. After losing her home in a 2020 fire and enduring years of nonstop professional demands, Ray said she’s learning that strength sometimes means stepping back, not pushing forward. Fans and friends have rallied behind her, flooding her social media with encouragement and gratitude for her openness.

As of late 2025, Ray insists she’s doing well, continuing to write, record her podcast, and develop new creative projects through her production company. While she hasn’t offered a detailed medical explanation, she reassured listeners that she’s okay — just taking life at a slower, more intentional pace. “I’ve fallen before,” she said softly. “But I always get back up.” Her honesty turned concern into admiration, reminding everyone that even the strongest voices in our homes are human too — and that sometimes, the hardest lesson is learning when to rest.
