Jelly Roll’s Inspiring Transformation Has Everyone Talking — His Journey Is Far from Over

In late 2022, country star Jelly Roll made a decision that would change his life forever. At nearly 540 pounds, he realized it was time to take control of his health — not just for his body, but for his future. Known for his openness about life’s struggles, Jelly promised to share his fitness journey publicly, hoping his honesty would inspire others facing the same battle.

“I wanna have one of the biggest transformations,” he told his wife Bunnie Xo on her Dumb Blonde Podcast.

“I’m doing this publicly because I want to be real about my struggles.”

Setting Big Goals and Staying Accountable

Although Jelly Roll hasn’t shared his exact goal weight, he once revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live that he had “a number in mind.”
But for him, it’s not just about a number — it’s about living life to the fullest.

“To do all the fun stuff in life, you’ve got to be under 250,” he joked.
“I wanna skydive, ride a roller coaster, ride a bull, even wrestle an alligator — I’ve got a list.”

Rather than chasing shortcuts, Jelly changed everything about his lifestyle — from nutrition and workouts to mental wellness. And the results have been incredible: by mid-2025, he has already lost nearly 250 pounds.

The Milestones Along the Way

April 2023: Performs at the CMT Music Awards, one of his final shows before beginning his transformation.

January 2024: Teams up with biologist and trainer Gary Brecka, setting a bold goal — 250 pounds in just over a year.

May 2024: Completes his first-ever 5K run in Pasadena after losing 70 pounds.

October 2024: Passes the 100-pound mark and appears proudly beside Bunnie Xo at the CMA Awards.

December 2024: Down 120 pounds, he sets his sights on the Men’s Health magazine cover.

April 2025: Performs at Stagecoach Festival, weighing 357 pounds — 200 pounds lighter than before.

May 2025: Finishes the same 5K race again, faster and stronger.

August 2025: Shocks fans with a confident appearance at WWE SummerSlam, showing off his new look.

September 2025: Jokes about fitting into designer clothes, laughing,

“Pray for my bank account,” while showing off his new Louis Vuitton style.

A Story Bigger Than Weight Loss

Jelly Roll’s transformation is about more than diet and exercise — it’s about discipline, faith, and redemption.

His story mirrors the themes in his music: pain turned into purpose, and struggle turned into strength.

From a 540-pound performer to a man chasing marathons and mountain peaks, Jelly Roll is proving that change is always possible — one step, one meal, and one moment of courage at a time.

Here’s to Jelly Roll — and to every person out there chasing their own comeback story.
