Today, I came home to learn that my wife had given away my two cats—Shadow and Leo.
There was no warning, no conversation—nothing.
She’s always voiced her frustrations about the fur (despite my constant vacuuming!) and how they “make the house smell,” even though I clean the litter box every day and do deep cleans weekly.
These cats have been a part of my life since before we met, and I have always been clear about how much they mean to me.
When I asked her where they went, she screamed, “Either me or the cats.
Make your choice!” That night, after she had fallen asleep, I went through her phone, and I was heartbroken to find her chat history with a man saying, “We can’t take care of them any longer, so you can have both cats for $100 only.” I felt a wave of anger and disbelief.
